"Wait Until Dark" Play Director Talks Lyric Theater Show

The play "Wait Until Dark" runs at the Lyric Theater from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.

Michael Ambrun is the director of the play. He appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" Thursday to discuss the play. Ambrun said he thinks the last time the production ran at the Lyric Theater was in 2000. The director said he decided he wants to bring in more of the Halloween season shows. The show follows a young couple.

The couple lives in a basement apartment in New York City's Greenwich Village; it is set in the sixties. The husband is a photographer, and the wife is recently blind. The husband went on a business trip that pushes the story forward. The intense thriller centers around the blind wife and a doll. Audiences will be immersed in darkness as parts of the show takes place in darkness. "You're going to be able to hear things on stage and not know what's going on until the lights come back up," Ambrun said. The director added that it's an intense show.

"Wait Until Dark" has a cast of eight people. The shows starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Sunday show starts at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at http://thelyricharrison.org/.

The full interview with Ambrun is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
