Midterm Election Recap

Voters went out around the region on Tuesday to vote in a number of local races. 

Among the key races, Jerry Jackson won a second term as Harrison’s Mayor beating out challenger Rhonda Watkins by nearly 700 votes. Also, Diamond City Mayor Jamie Nuessner claimed another term in his position holding off a challenge from Timothy Kapsos. 

Among Mayoral Races in Carroll County, Butch Berry wins another term in office in Eureka Springs while Don McNeely wins the Mayors Office in Green Forest. Also in Carroll County, David Writer wins a three-way race for County Judge. 

In the area State House Races, incumbents Ron McNair and Harlan Breaux won reelection while in the State Senate, Scott Flippo and Bryan King took home the wins. 

In State and Federal Races in Arkansas and Missouri, the Senate and House Races went as predicted with Republican Candidates winning their races. 

In Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Leslie Rutledge won the Governor and Lt. Governor offices while longtime Senator John Boozeman retains his senate seat. In the House, Rick Crawford and Steve Womack retain their seats. 

In Missouri, Eric Schmidt takes the U.S. Senate seat and will take over for the retiring Roy Blunt while Eric Burlison wins the 7th District Congressional seat. Scott Fitzpatrick wins his race to become the State Auditor which means bot Schmidt’s position as the State’s Attorney General and Fitzpatrick’s as State Treasurer will have to be filled by Governor Mike Parson.
