Dillard on Marijuana, Announcement and More

Dan Dillard from the Boone County Substance Misuse Prevention Coalition talked Tuesday about the recreational marijuana Issue 4.

Dillard appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" Wednesday to discuss the issue. He said marijuana is one of the "top four drugs responsible for emergency department visits." Dillard said this is according to a 2021 study and added that it's behind alcohol, opioids and methamphetamines. He said this telling given that marijuana is "otherwise promoted as harmless by many." Dillard spoke more on the topic. He also announced a name change for the coalition.

Dillard said the coalition's new name is the Ignite Coalition; he said the coalition members were aware for quite some time that the old name was tedious. Because of this, they voted to change the name. Dillard discussed this and more on the broadcast.
