MOARK Sports Report 5-5

A wrap-up of the Arkansas State Track Meets among the highlights from Thursday sports action plus a preview of today's games on MOARK Sports.

Over the last two days, the Arkansas State Track meets wrapped up. 

On Thursday, the 5A Meet took place at Lake Hamilton. The Harrison Girls ended up finishing in 14th place in the team competition with all of the points coming from Laiklyn Stephens, who won the 5A State Championship in the Triple Jump and took home second in the Long Jump.

Meanwhile, several area schools took part in the 1A State Meet held Wednesday in Lincoln. Kingston took home the team title in the 1A Girls Competition with Omaha finishing eighth. The Eagles also took home eighth place in the Boys Team competition with Kingston finishing 15th.

Each school took home one first place event finish and both in the 400 Meter Relay. The Kingston Relay team of Grace Cooper, Lila Hartness, Hope Cooper, and Aubrey Henderson claimed the Girls Title while the Omaha Relay team of  Jonathan McKinney, Briar Whitehurst, Dylan Greenwood, and Kaleb Carlton.   

Alpena and Lead Hill were among the other schools taking part in the 1A State Meet.

Most other events on the field were in Missouri on Thursday though Joplin at Branson Baseball game was one of several events postponed by rain. The schools will play their game this afternoon at 4:30. 

One game that was played and heard on MOARK Sports was the Reeds Spring at Willow Springs Baseball game with the host Bears posting a 13-2 win. 

Today, MOARK Sports will highlight opening round games in the Missouri District Softball Tournament. From the Forsyth, the host Lady Panther will take on Springfield Catholic at 2:00 while Hollister matches-up with Strafford at 5:00. Also this afternoon, Blue Eye will play the host team at the Class 1 District in Dora at 2:00.
