Eight Area High School Basketball Teams in Regional Tournament Action Today!

Teams from Western Grove, Kingston, Jasper, Valley Springs, Bergman, and Harrison still alive in tournament play.

Today and tomorrow are the final days for regional basketball tournaments around the state and several area teams remain alive with tickets to the upcoming state tournament already punched.

In the 1A class the Western Grove boys’ and girls’ team will play in the semi-finals of the regional tournament today. The girls play the County Line Lady Indians at 4:00 PM, the boys play the New School Cougars at 8:30 for their semi-final game. The Cougars eliminated the Lead Hill Tigers on Sunday 69-54.

Also, in the 1A the Jasper Lady Pirates and the Kingston Lady Yellowjackets play each other today at 7:00 PM for the regional semi-final. The 1A regional tournament is held in County Line.

 For the 3A class two area teams will face off today in Booneville. The Bergman Lady Panthers and the Valley Springs Lady tigers will play for a regional championship today at 7:00 PM. Both the Bergman and Valley Springs boys’ teams were eliminated from the tournament on Saturday to the Waldron Bulldogs and the Paris Eagles respectively.

In the 4A class the Harrison Lady Goblins will play the Gentry Pioneers for 3rd place in the regional tournament today at 4:00 PM. The Boys will play immediately after, also for third place, against the Shiloh Christian Saints. The 4A regional is in Farmington.
