One fire south of Valley Springs and another near Bellefonte.

The Valley Springs Fire Department responded to two structure fires on Monday.

According to a Facebook post by the Valley Springs Fire Department the first fire was to the south of Valley Springs. “Arriving units found a well house/shed fully involved. We were able to extinguish the fire quickly, and keep it from spreading to other structures. There were no injuries,” the post said.

The second fire was in the Bellefonte area and their post said, “Arriving units found a house with moderate smoke showing. An active structure fire was confirmed, so we requested mutual aid from Harmon, Western Grove, Krooked Kreek, and Harrison fire departments. Units were on scene for 7 hours, and got the fire under control. Approximately 4 hours later we were paged out to the same address for a rekindle. We responded, and were able to keep the fire contained to its foundation. There were no injuries.”

The department issued thanks to Harmon Fire Department, Western Grove Fire Department , Krooked Kreek Fire Department , Harrison Fire Department , Boone County OEM, Boone County 911, Boone County Sheriffs Office, and NARMC EMS for their assistance.
