Two Fatal Accidents in Madison County

The Arkansas State Police work a pair of fatality crashes in Madison County over the last two days.

According to the online reports, the first one occurred on Friday evening just before 9:00 on County Road 5340 when a pick-up truck driven by 49-year-old John Wayne Miller of Elkins drove off the roadway striking an embankment and overturning coming to a rest on its top. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

The second crash occurred on State Highway 23 around 2:45 Saturday afternoon when a motorcycle driven by 52-year old Charles Luccous of Palantine lost control of his motorcycle negotiating a curve and traveled off the highway and overturned throwong both Luccous and a passenger off the motorcycle. Luccous died in the crash while the passenger, 50-year-old Aubre Van Hoesen of Kenosha, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of here injuries. 

These are the 193rd and 194th fatalities in traffic crashes worked by the Arkansas State Police in 2023.
