Arrest Made in Domestic Battery Case

A Marion County man has been arrested after he broke his pregnant wife’s arm during an argument in front of their children. 29-year-old Colt Thorne of Everton was arrested last week on three charges.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Hotline received a call that two victims were assaulted by Thorne. They were interviewed at Grandma’s House, a child advocacy center in Harrison.

During the interview, one of the children said Thorne had become mad and started slapping and punching their mom. When the mother was interviewed, she says Thorne put her arm behind her and pulled, then pushed her across the kitchen into a highchair, knocking her over and then started punching her.

She says at that point, one of the children grabbed a walking stick and started hitting Thorne to make him stop.

The victim went to the emergency room in Harrison and found out she has a fractured arm. She also had an ultrasound performed because she is 15 weeks pregnant, and everything appears to be normal.

Thorne is facing a felony charge of domestic battery in the second degree and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

He is also being held for a body attachment for non-payment. Court records indicate he owes over $31,700 in back child support.

His bonds total $16,500.
