SAP Coalition Offering a Training Event

The Boone County Substance Abuse Prevention (SAP) Coalition has a community change training coming up.

Dan Dillard from the Boone County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition joined KHOZ’s Around The Table on Wednesday to talk about the Seven Strategies for Community Change training. Before discussing that, he invited anyone interested to join their work. “We’d love to have anybody and everybody interested in enacting community change primarily among our youth join us,” Dillard said. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m.

The training is the morning of Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will take place at the John Paul Hammerschmidt conference center in the North Arkansas College south campus. The training is a contract partnership with the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). CADCA is a national organization who will be conducting the training. It is focused on substance abuse and prevention, but anyone interested is welcome. The SAP Coalition “strategically target” parents, youth, schools, law enforcement, healthcare and religious organizations among others. Dillard said those wanting to sign up for the training should email him at daniel.dillard@northark.edu or message the coalition via their Facebook Page. The training is offered virtually and in person.

The full interview with Dillard is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
