Rotary Clubs “Jump For A Cause” Offers Skydiving in Harrison

Rotary brings "Jump For A Cause" back for it's third year!

The Rotary Club of Harrison is offering people the chance to jump out of a perfectly good airplane for a good cause.

Spree Hilliard is the President of the Harrison Rotary Club and she says that all the proceeds made by Rotary will go toward building a splash pad near the Wonder Willa Park by Lake Harrison. “Rotary has made great strides in the last couple of years to make the park all-inclusive and the splash pad is a part of that,” Hilliard says, “Rotary is service above self and we’re constantly looking for ways to do that.”

The “Jump For a Cause” event started as an extension of the Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Celebration in the Sky four years ago. This will be the third year for the event as COVID-19 disrupted it in 2020 and it will happen apart from Celebration In The Sky which is coming up  later in September.

People can sign up for skydiving by contacting a Rotarian or calling (870) 688-8316. The cost for a first time, single jumper is $500 each. Groups of two or more can enter for $400 each. The “Frequent Flyer” discount applies to anyone who has previously flown in Rotary’s “Jump For A Cause” and that price is $450 per person.

Hilliard says part of the reason for the cost per jump is that around half of the money goes to Skydive Fayetteville, the company providing the skydiving experience. She also said that some people get sponsors to help cover the cost of their jump of have friends and family pitch in.

Rotary’s “Jump For a Cause” is done in partnership with the Boone County Airport.
