North Arkansas College Career Pathways Program Helps People Attend College

The North Arkansas College Career Pathways program is a state-funded program through the Workforce Services Department that assists parents wanting to attend college.

Rebecca Martin appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to discuss the North Arkansas College Career Pathways. Martin is the director of the program. "It's to help them get off any type of state services," Martin said.

The program has parents as young as 17 and 18 years of age. Martin added that grandparents raising grandchildren are also in the program. "You just have to have a child under the age of 21 that you have some sort of responsibility for."

She said this can include shared, non-custodial and others. The program offers easy entry.

Martin said that the process is easy and welcoming. The income guidelines are "super high."

She revealed that a family of four can be in the program and still earn $66,000 at their work.

People wanting to join the program should text the word apply to 870-391-3153. People will receive a qualification sheet after texting. More was discussed on the program.

The full interview with Martin was on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
