A 61-year-old Yellville man facing rape charges in both Baxter and Marion counties appears in Baxter County Circuit Court last week.

Michael Allen Davis had earlier entered a not guilty plea to the Baxter County charges, and, on Thursday, he entered the same plea in the Marion County case.

In the Baxter County case, Davis is charged with two count of rape. He faces three counts in Marion County.

Court records show the victims in Marion County were girls ages 4 and 7. The probable cause affidavit containing details as to what allegedly occurred in the Baxter County case has been sealed.

The violation date in Baxter County is listed as April 22 and in Marion County as April 28.

Davis is alleged to have told investigators in the Marion County case that he did have inappropriate contact with the two young girls.

The contact is reported to have happened twice with the 7-year-old and once with the 4-year-old.

When he was interviewed, Davis is also alleged to have confessed in the Marion County case that the sexual activity had all taken place within the last six months.

Davis pled not guilty to the Baxter County charges in early May. He now has a jury trial set for late October.

He has been an inmate in the Baxter County jail since April 29, with bond set at $500,000.
