The Harrison City Council will consider a resolution to donate City Right-of-Way to the Arkansas Highway Department as part of the new Main Street Bridge Project over Crooked Creek.
The City Council got an initial look at it during last week's Council Committee Meeting. Council Member Wayne Cone presented the resolution on behalf of Public Works Director Wade Phillips. Originally, there was a plan for the state to buy that right-a-way but the resolution will make that a donation. Phillips, who was not able to attend the meeting, had recommended the resolution and was backed during discussion by Mayor Jerry Jackson, who said that with the state is spending $8 million on the bridge project and that it is worth donating the right-a-way which Cone said was worth just over $3800.
The committee voted to move the resolution on to the full City Council for consideration at next week's meeting.
