AR State Senate Candidate Jim Wallace Talks Broadband and More

Arkansas State Senate Candidate Jim Wallace said Friday that he's running because he wants more leadership in the state.

Wallace spoke on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday. He said he wants this particularly in the rural areas. He wants more leadership and action for volunteer emergency services. He said digital is replacing analog. Wallace said compatibility is needed between districts, counties and agencies for catastrophic and smaller events.

He said the area doesn't have that now and reiterated the transition to digital. He touched on some districts already having digital while others don't. He said he wants to propose a bill to fix this. Wallace also talked about recruitment. He said people aren't brought in fast enough to replace the older volunteer emergency medical and fire responders.

Later, the candidate discussed broadband. He said his idea is Arkansas having a state-owned satellite system. He said this technology can save lives and money. He also stated that it would generate "good paying jobs." He said doing this is not as expensive as it once was.

All of this and more was discussed during the interview.

The full interview with Wallace is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
