PA Ends Harrison Goblin Football Season

For the fourth time in five years, the Harrison Goblin Football season is ended by the Pulaski Academy Bruins in the Arkansas State Football Playoffs, winning 36-21 on Friday night.

PA, hosting the 5A First Round Game in Little Rock, scored on their opening possession of the game though missed the conversion to lead 6-0. After the Goblins first drive stalled, an errant snap on the punt was downed in the end zone for a safety to put the Bruins up 8-0. The Bruins scored on their next drive overcoming a couple of penalties using a reverse and a middle screen to score and go up 16-0.

The Goblins drive on the next series was highlighted by a one-handed catch by Dylan Block of a Logan Plumlee pass that covered 28 yards but that drive eventually stalled at the 20 but the Goblins got the ball right back on a turnover on the next play as the quarter ended. The Goblins turned it right back over on the first play of the second quarter and the Bruins eventually scored again to go up 22-0. The Goblins finally broke through the next drive as Beck Jones ran it in on a fourth and goal to cut the lead to 22-6 which was the halftime score.

The Goblins got the first score of the second half on a Plumlee to Sloan Barrett pass to cut the lead to 22-14. The teams exchanged possessions though a Goblin turnover deep in their own territory in the middle of the fourth quarter led to score then the next possession, the Bruins got an interception return for a touchdown to put the game away.

Plumlee did throw a long pass to Block for the final Goblin score of the game and also get to over 300 yards passing for the game.

The Goblins finish their 2021 season at 7-4 while the Bruins move on in the 5A Playoffs.
