White River Marine Group Transitioning Midway Operations to Flippin

Operations at one boat manufacturing facility will be transferred to another in the region.

The story below is from KTLO:

On Monday, employees at the Midway facility of White River Marine Group and Triton Boats were notified operations would be moving to the newly expanded facilities in Flippin.

Representatives from Bass Pro Communications, who owns White River Marine Group, released a statement:

“With the overall economic conditions, particularly around high-interest rates, creating headwinds in the marketplace we will, for the time being, transition operations from the manufacturing facility in Midway, Arkansas to our newly expanded facilities in nearby Flippin, Arkansas. Our Flippin manufacturing facility has been producing Ranger boats for over 55 years and backed by multiple generations of some of the best craftsmen and women in the industry.”

Bass Pro Communications stated “taking care of our people have always been a priority for us White River Marine Group and we are deeply committed to ensuring every one of our Midway Outfitters is supported through the transition.”

They state re-utilizing the Midway facilities is a top priority and they are exploring many options. In 2009, the plan in Bolivar, Mo. temporarily closed and has since re-opened as a pontoon production facility.

Officials state employees from Midway will be transferred to Flippin, although the exact number is not known at this time. They state they are working with employees on options to best support them through the transition, including transfers to other locations within the company.
