Traffic Stop near Harrison Nets Drugs, Guns

A traffic stop Thursday near Harrison resulted in the arrest of two individuals for a large amount of drugs and guns found in their car.

According to the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force, on Aug. 3 a traffic stop conducted by the Arkansas State Police and Boone County deputies along with their K-9 partner, resulted in over 11 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 221 grams of suspected Fentanyl in pill form and five firearms in the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for a residence where items were found related to the sale of drugs and drug use.

14th Judicial District Drug Task Force Commander Robert Braden stated the good working relationship between all agencies involved helped to remove thousands of doses of methamphetamine and Fentanyl from the streets.

The 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force covers Baxter, Boone, Marion, and Newton Counties in Arkansas and is made up of a Commander and two full time Investigators solely employed by the Drug Task Force. Approximately eight officers are assigned to the Drug Task Force from supporting agencies which include Baxter, Boone, Marion, and Newton County Sheriff’s Offices and the Harrison and Mountain Home Police Departments.
