The Grandma's House Gala is in April

Grandma's House's gala approaches.

Kaleigh Soma from Grandma's House appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about the gala and more. This is the group's second gala, and it's on April 2 at the Signature Tower ballroom at 6:30 p.m. Semi-formal attire is expected. A caterer will provide food, and a silent auction will occur.

Later, people will receive awards. The evening will also have guest speakers. One speaker is with the Harrison Police Department; the other speaker is a abuse survivor.

That speaker went through Grandma's House's therapy program and received all of the services. Anyone is welcome to attend the gala.

Soma said tickets are $30 a plate or $250 for a table of eight people. Tickets are available online; fee free tickets are available at 870-517-1681. The event will run close to two hours.

Grandma's House is a nonprofit organization that advocates for children facing abuse. The organization partners with prosecutors, law enforcement agencies and others in investigating incidents of child abuse and speak in courts on behalf of victims.

It provides four free services to children ages zero to 18. More was discussed during the broadcast.

The full interview with Soma is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
