Tackling Inflation Requires Addressing Fuel and Food

U.S. Rep. for Arkansas Rick Crawford said Monday that Congress needs to address fuel and food cost if they are going to tackle inflation.

“The two are inextricably linked,” Crawford said on KHOZ’s “Around The Table” broadcast. He said those two areas are the most pressing. “When you think about fuel for example, as fuel cost rises, that means transportation costs rise and so does production cost.” He said the cost of food will rise because of this.

“It’s going to cost more to produce. It’s going to cost more to transport,” Crawford said. He said those are the leading indicators of inflation.

Later, Crawford discussed electric cars. He said mainstream consumers can’t afford electric vehicles. The full interview with Crawford is on the “Around The Table” Facebook Page.
