Shooting of Homicide Suspect Justifiable

The shooting of a Maine homicide suspect by a Boone County deputy has been ruled justifiable.

Boone County Sheriff Roy Martin tells KTLO that after the Arkansas State Police’s investigation into the incident, the 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office ruled Deputy Tyler Nichols’ actions were appropriate when he shot 20-year-old Spridal Hubiak of Waterville, Maine.
The shooting took place after a chase of the suspect from Flippin to around Bellefonte, when the suspect tried to escape his vehicle and displayed a rifle.

Hubiak is charged in the death of a co-worker at a liquor store in Maine in December.

More details on the story can be found on the KTLO Website.
