School's Out, and Here's What you Should Know!

Superintendent Stewart Pratt talked Wednesday about the end of the school year and summer programs.

He highlighted sports achievements. Goblin Girls' softball, soccer, and baseball finished well. Pratt also noted a state win in track. He said there has been "great success" in spring sports. Pratt pointed out the resilience of students and teachers this year.

"I'm really proud of Harrison, I'm proud of Arkansas. We were one of the few states that had in-person learning and just kind of battled our way through," Pratt said. He said he thinks in-person learning is the better option. The superintendent also discussed summer programs.

Camp Invention still has spaces open; it starts on June 6. Summer school also starts on June 6 and is available via in-person and digital learning. The GOBSMobile will be active too.

"We have a staff that's gonna run the GOBSmobile," Pratt said. There will be an agenda showing its different locations. The GOBSmobile offers books and activities. The GOBSmobile is equipped with air conditioning now. Pratt said the summer-feeding program will be available.

The summer-feeding program starts on June 6 as well. It will be at the high school. Later, Pratt said that while the summer food program is free, the regular food program providing breakfast and lunch will return to the three-tiered system because food prices are up and the waivers have ended. The full interview with Pratt is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
