Ten years later, four Harrison High School graduates took center court at last night’s Harrison vs. Bergman basketball game. Every year at the Lendel Thomas Classic, the Lendel Thomas Memorial Scholarship recipients from 10 years prior stop by to be recognized.

Both the 2010 and 2011 recipients were honored this year due to not having a tournament last year. All four recipients were able to make an appearance including Molly Brashers, Michael Faddis, Kylee Quattlebaum and Kindall Martin.

“Lendel Thomas meant so much to so many people and we all got that scholarship and to be able to come back to the tournament that is named after him is great,” Molly said.

“It’s a big deal to have your name associated with Lendel Thomas,” added Kindall. “We are all fortunate to be here and to be a part of a Harrison tradition.”

The fans cheered for the alum during half-time while they were greeted by Lendel’s brother, Rick Thomas.

“It felt good being at our hometown and to see all of those fans,” Michael said.

“It felt really good to be on that court even though it isn’t LT’s Court but I would say it feels good to be honored for something that is Lendel Thomas’s legacy,” Kylie added.
