Santa Claus and More Coming to the Boone County Library

Rebecca Force joined KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about upcoming Christmas related events at the Boone County Library.

Rebecca Force with the Boone County Library joined KHOZ’s “Around The Table” on Tuesday to talk about events coming up at the library. Force said the most important one is on Thursday.

The public is invited to come see Santa Claus at the library from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Thursday December 9th. Force said, “it’s a great opportunity for pictures and just to hang out with Santa.”

The library is also proud to bring back the annual “Music on the Mezzanine” this year. This event features three choirs performing on different days. The first one took place on Tuesday with the Valley Springs High School Choir performance. On Thursday at 10:30 AM the Harrison Middle School Choir will perform. “Music on the Mezzanine” will wrap up during the week of Christmas with the Harrison Community Choir on December 21st, at 5:00 PM. Force said she hopes everyone will come by and “enjoy some festive cheer.”

The library is also looking to replace carpet in the genealogy and children’s department. Funds were raised earlier in the year for the project through donations and the new carpet was supposed to be installed in November, but supply shortages have pushed that back to January of 2022. Force said the library will close on News Years Eve and reopen on January 10th to give time for carpet installation.

The library will also be closed December 23-25 for the Christmas Holiday.

More information about the library can be found in the full interview with Rebecca Force on the “Around The Table” Facebook page.
