In a letter to state employees released on her website, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announces her plan for major revisions to the State Employee Payment Plans.

Entitled “Arkansas Forward”, the initiative would be recommended to the State Legislature in 2025.

In the meantime, Sanders is asking the legislature to approve a temporary plan for 2024, which she says recognizes the need to recruit and retain talented public servants with more competitive pay. The plan would authorize the administration to make a one-time 3% increase to Arkansas state employee pay. This plan also raises every state employee’s pay to at least $15 an hour by July 1st according to the letter. The letter also states that the plan raises the maximum salary range for all pay grades by 10% as well as other incentives for future recruits and current employees.

The letter can be found on the Arkansas Governor Website.
