Ron McNair Announces Re-Election Bid

"It has been an honor to serve in the House and I would appreciate the opportunity to serve again." - Ron McNair

According to a Facebook post by Arkansas State Representative Ron McNair he will be running for re-election to his current seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives. 

McNair said, "I haven't posted on Facebook for about a year (for different reasons). I sent my re-election announcement to the newspaper but I have been asked by some folks if I was running again so I am going to post what was in the paper. I also want to thank everyone for their prayers and support."

The newspaper article from the Harrison Daily Times that McNair posted is as follows: 

"State Representative Ron McNair now serving District 98 will be seeking re-election to serve the newly formed District 5 House seat.

The numbers of the District have changed due to redistricting.

It has been an honor to serve in the House and I would appreciate the opportunity to serve again. It has been a wonderful experience to work with both State and local officials to help make positive improvements to our District and our Great State.

During the 93rd General Assembly McNair served as Co-Chair of the Highway Commission Review and Advisory Subcommittee. He also served on the Agriculture, Forestry and Economic Development Committee, Revenue and Tax Committee, Arkansas Legislative Council, Joint Budget Committee, Lottery Oversight Subcommittee, Medical Marijuana Oversight Subcommittee.

McNair owns Ron's Auto Service and has been blessed to serve on the Alpena City Council, 30 years on the Alpena School Board, 11 years on the Arkansas School Board Association serving as President in 2002, and served on the North Arkansas College

Advisory Council.

A lifelong resident of Boone County McNair and his Wife Phyllis have two adult children, Jeff and Tammy McNair, Falisha and Michael Valentin, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
