Radium Girls at the Lyric Theatre

"Radium Girls" is coming up at the Lyric Theatre.

The Ozarks Arts Council's Eric Stefanski and Emma Bock appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss "Radium Girls" and more. Bock is acting in the show which will run from Jan. 25 through Jan. 28. The show starts at 7 p.m. on each day but the final run of the show. It starts at 2 p.m. on Jan. 28.

It's a story about the historical dial painters of the 1920s. Bock explained that radium was perceived to be a "cure-all" chemical.

She said the painters would "point the tips of the brushes with their lips" and thus ingested the substance. The painters "fight for justice against U.S. radium corporation." Tickets are available for purchase online.

Bock said the story attracted her to acting in the show. Stefanski talked about more updates related to the council. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Bock and Stefanski is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
