Public hearing regarding city trash/recycling service contract extension.

According to a Facebook post by The city of Harrison a public hearing  is being held on Thursday, December 9th, at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall asking for public input on extending the contract with Orion Waste Solutions, the City’s current trash and recycling service. Th contract is set to expire at the end of 2022. The City Council has scheduled the public hearing seeking input from city residents and trash service customers on two subjects.

First, Orion Waste Solutions has requested a 5-year extension to the existing contract. This would extend the contract through the year 2026. Council is seeking public input on whether to extend the existing contract or go back out to bid for a new contract to begin in 2022.

Second, the City is requesting input on the types and levels of trash and recycling services residents and businesses would like to have offered. Examples include but are not limited to: continuation of residential curb-side recycling program, different sizes of containers, options for curb-side yard waste collection services, etc.

For those unable to attend the Public Hearing, comments can also be submitted by email to the following address: feedback@cityofharrison.com.
