Proposal Would Revise Entertainment District Guidelines

A proposal presented at last week's Harrison City Council Committee Meeting would revise some guidelines for Alcohol Sales in the Entertainment District.

Sam Boyd of the District Committee outlined some of the revisions which included eliminating Sunday Sales while setting the hours for the rest of the week from 12:00 to 11:00 pm. The revisions would also eliminate Sales during certain events including the annual Christmas Parade, Harvest Homecoming Festival, and Public School sponsored events like the Harrison High School Homecoming Parade.

Boyd also asked that the committee be allowed to add restrictions for events that may come up during the year without having to come before the Council for a revision of the ordinance.

After some discussion and clarification, the Resource and Policy Committee voted to move the proposal on the full City Council for consideration.

The meeting, which was preceded by a Public Meeting on the proposed Creekside Music Venue, can be seen on the City of Harrison Facebook Page.
