Pratt Says No Thought of Harrison Schools Going Virtual Right Now

"We have no thoughts at this time to turn to virtual.” - Dr. Stewart Pratt

Many area schools have begun transitioning to virtual (AMI) learning for a few days with massive increases in COVID cases and staff shortages.

Valley Springs, Bergman, Omaha, Berryville, and Marshall districts have all gone virtual until after Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Dr. Stewart Pratt, Harrison Schools Superintendent, says there is no plan for Harrison to go virtual at this time.

“It’s hitting us pretty good, but I think our percentages are strong enough to where we want to stay open at this point,” Pratt said, “and very happy with our masks and right now we’re able to stay in class and learning. But, we have no thoughts at this time to turn to virtual.”

The mask requirement is supposed to be reevaluated on Thursday, January 20th to determine if it will be extended. Previously Pratt said, “I’m hoping people look at it like an analogy, like a Band-Aid. I fall down, I scratch my knee, I put a Band-Aid on it. I don’t like wearing Band-Aids…but I’m going to put in on there for a little while until it heals then I’m going to move on and take it off.”
