Ozarks Native Returns Home to Make Film

An actor from the Ozarks is set to make a film that will produced in the region.

Rebecca Holopter, who was born and raised in the Springfield area and attended Logan-Rogersville High School, is going to film the movie in the Ozarks with part of the filming to take place in the Lakes Region. The movie, named "Big Mike's Cabin", is being produced by The Best Brothers Productions, a company formed by Holopter and Verity Butler, who co-wrote the script for the movie.

Holopter and Butler, during a recent interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program, talked about the movie which is inspired on their friendship. The story details two friends who were in a business together that eventually failed and how they handled the failure within themselves and between the two of them. The backdrop of the story will take place in the Ozarks with the cabin located on Table Rock Lake. 

The duo says they will be doing some casting for parts from talent in the region and also detailed how individuals can donate to the independent production, which they plan on filming later in the spring with hopes to have it completed by the end of the year.
