One of the Writers Behind the CC Brown Pseudonym Speaks

Behind the pen name CC Brown are two sisters who write paranormal fiction.

Schyrlet Cameron and Kathy Brown are those sisters. Cameron appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to talk about their work.

The books take place in areas they visited on trips. They wrote two supernatural books; one is set in San Antonio and the other in Oregon. They also have a book set in Eureka Springs.

Experiences at a hotel in the Arkansas city inspired another tale. She claimed to have encounters with the ghost of a cowboy. Brown and Cameron didn't have childhood dreams of writing.

Cameron said neither of them planned to write. The sisters have dyslexia, and Cameron said it was just nice to know how to read once they learned to do so. It took Cameron until close to the eighth grade to triumph over her reading struggles.

So, writing wasn't a goal as kids; in fact, she described it as "impossible" at the time. As adults, things are different.

They "kind of fell into it." She's a retired teacher, and Brown runs a daycare.

Their books are online. More was discussed during the interview.

The full interview with Cameron is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
