Nita Cooper Talks About Arkansas Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee

Arkansas Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committee promotes agriculture in the state, according to Nita Cooper.

Cooper appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to discuss the group. She the group's vice chair. This advocacy group does its work via agriculture education in schools, "community cultivation" and more.

Community cultivation raises money for things like the backpack program for the schools, purchasing school supplies and more. Cooper said farming impacts everything, so that's why they help provide items like school supplies.

Another element of the community cultivation part of the committee, she said, is that it helps "local farm bureau groups address needs in their community." That covers a wide range of needs.

Later, she spoke about the concern that the next generation won't have enough farmers. She said she's seeing more young farmers getting involved, but she added that the next generation always needs encouragement to enter agriculture.

Cooper also spoke about programs like Future Farmers of America (FFA). More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Cooper is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
