More Details on December Harrison Murder Case

Details have been released about a murder in Harrison last month and the man who shot his father to death said it was years of physical abuse to his mother and himself that led him to pull the trigger.

Michael Alexander Brewer is facing a charge of capital murder in the case. The victim was 50-year-old Shawn Brewer of Harrison.
According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, police were called to a business on Capps Road Dec. 15 for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, the younger Brewer exited the building with one hand in the air and the other holding a phone to his ear. He had blood on both hands. The victim was found lying inside the business. The Younger Brewer later told officers that he and his mother had been abused by the older Brewer and that led to him killing his dad.

Michael Brewer is being held in the Boone County Detention Center without bond. His jury trial for the crime is set to begin July 22.
