Marseilles Named Chamber Vice President

Press Release from the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce

Harrison, AR, January 7, 2022.  The Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Wilson Marseilles as Vice President. In this new role, he’ll help lead the Chamber in its economic development mission through leadership, education, and investor relations.

Chamber President/CEO Bob Largent announced that Marseilles assumes his new position this week. “His proven leadership, innovation, business competencies and organizational management make Wilson the right person to help lead the Chamber. The past two-plus years he’s demonstrated an uncanny ability to juggle the myriad requirements of Chamber work, focused here in Harrison and Boone County on Taking Care of Business.”

Following graduation with a finance degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a year working in Cabot, Marseilles returned home to Harrison in late 2019, joining the Chamber as its Director of Investors and Marketing that November. Largent said, “The position was created for Wilson to get him reintegrated into the community and telling the true story of Harrison and Boone County. He’s excelled at both – and much more!” Responsible for growing the Chamber’s communications and social media presence, today its Facebook page has over 3,700 followers, with a typical post reaching over 8,000 people. The weekly Chamber newsletter, The Connection, has recipients in seven counties and three states with an open rate of 34%, compared to the industry average of 25%.

A graduate of the International Economic Development Council’s Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course in 2020, he’s just completed his first year of the four-year curriculum of the Institute for Organizational Management, leading to his Certified Chamber Executive designation by the US Chamber of Commerce. He’s the elected Treasurer of the Harrison Lions Club and is leading several new Chamber engagement programs, including the Young Professionals.

Marseilles noted, “The Chamber has been proving over the last two years that we can and will have an impact on the business, community, and economic development of our area. We're building the capacity to do more, and I’m honored by this Board’s continued support and investment in my professional development to lead in those efforts.”
