Marseilles and Pratt Joined Around The Table on KHOZ

Wilson Marseilles from Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce and Superintendent of Harrison Schools Stewart Pratt joined KHOZ’s Around The Table on Thursday.

Marseilles joined the show as a guest host on Thursday but also gave a guest interview about events and ribbon cuttings the Chamber has been involved in. “Dunkin’ is open. Dunkin’s the big one everybody’s been loving,” Marseilles said. He said they had their grand opening on Tuesday and were giving out free coffee for a year in the form of booklets filled with offers for each month of the year. “I think they’re still giving out some throughout the week or something if you go through the drive-thru.”

Marseilles highlighted other businesses that are opening or have been delayed in opening. He said he has talked to some businesses still struggling to get inventory and meet their needs. He later added that there are big announcements coming that the Chamber cannot share yet.

Pratt joined the show by phone to discuss how school is going since starting back. Wednesday was the first day back. “Our teachers are just thrilled to have students back in the classroom,” Pratt said. Enrollment is up about 100 students from last year. “I’m sure that will settle out a little bit. There will be some adjustments in the next month,” he added.

Pratt also spoke about Rick Rogers. Rogers worked in transportation for the district for 29 years. He died on Monday. “That just left a big hole for our Transportation Department; it’s a big loss for our district,” Pratt said. He said Rogers’ mission was to get students to school safely and make sure they had a great time on the bus.
