Marion County Offices Close Due to COVID-19

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the area, Marion County Judge John Massey has announced all county offices are now closed to the public.

The closure starts Wednesday and offices will reopen Monday, August 2. A list of phone numbers for the various county offices will be posted on entry areas of the buildings. Anyone needing to conduct business can call the office from which they need help and personnel will assist them.

Judge Layton will be having juvenile court Wednesday in the Court Annex. She will conduct court as she did during the previous lockdown. Parties will need to wait in the parking lot until they are called in. For more information, call the trial court administrator at 870-425-8625.

Circuit Judge John Putman will not be having criminal court Wednesday. All parties, defendants and attorneys who are scheduled to appear in criminal court on Wednesday are being rescheduled to appear Wednesday, August 11 at 9:30 a.m.

The Transfer Station will be open and will use the same procedures during the last lockdown. Patrons will remain in vehicles and employees will unload articles.

The Marion County Library will also be closed to patrons until August 2. They will provide curbside service. Call 870-449-6015 for more informatin.
