Marion County Man Faces Felony Charges

A 26-year-old Bull Shoals man faces multiple felony charges after he allegedly pulled a pistol during an altercation on State Highway 178 near Ranger Boats in Flippin.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Quintin D. Steele, was arrested Aug. 1 on two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of terroristic threatening, all of which are felonies. He also faces two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

Authorities received a call of a road rage incident on the highway around 9:30 p.m.

The complainants stated they were traveling near Ranger Boats when a vehicle driven by Steele allegedly passed them and slammed on his brakes to block the road.

The victims stated Steele got out of his vehicle, retrieved a hand gun from the trunk and racked a round in the chamber. Steele then pointed the weapon at the complainant and started yelling at him for the way he was driving.

The affidavit says Steele’s girlfriend, who was traveling with two young children in the vehicle with Steele, exited the vehicle and started shouting for him to get back in the car. A passenger in the complainant’s vehicle started to get out of the passenger door, but Steele allegedly confronted the man, pointed the gun at him and told him to get back in the truck.

After allegedly pointing the weapon at the driver once more, Steele returned to his vehicle, put the gun in the trunk and left the scene.

The complainant called 911 at that point and began pursuing Steele’s vehicle. Steele turned on to State Highway 202 and began traveling at a high rate of speed. Steele’s vehicle went into the ditch near Honeydo Lane to end the chase.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, the deputy saw two adults near the vehicle’s trunk, one of which was identified as Steele. The affidavit says Steele attempted to lift the trunk and reach in, but the deputy ordered him to the ground.

The deputy checked the trunk and recovered a 9mm Beretta handgun.
