One of two men who fled from law enforcement last year with a baby in the back seat of a car and a loaded .380 pistol near the child has received a 75-year prison sentence.

Online court records indicate 34-year-old Robert David Spackeen of Albuquerque, New Mexico, pled guilty to 12 felony charges in Searcy County Circuit Court late last month.

Spackeen was the driver of the vehicle with New Mexico tags that fled when a deputy attempted a traffic stop on the morning of Aug. 30, 2020 on U.S. Highway 65 in Leslie.

The New Mexico man’s charges included

* possession of meth or cocaine with purpose to deliver;
* simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms;
* possession of a Scheduled IV narcotic with purpose to deliver;
* possession of drug paraphernalia to ingest, inhale, etc.;
* possession of paraphernalia to manufacture meth or cocaine;
* fleeing;
* endangering welfare;
* reckless driving;
* defective equipment;
* driving on a suspended, cancelled or revoked driver’s license;
* possession of drug paraphernalia; and
* possession of a controlled substance Scheduled I/II.

Online records indicate the amount of Spackeen’s total time to serve is 900 months or 75 years.

He was given credit for having served 418 days.

Spackeen’s co-defendant, 33-year-old William Fay, was sentenced earlier this year to serve 120 months in the Arkansas Department of Correction on six felony charges.

He was given credit for having served 289 days.

The sentences were handed down by Judge H.G. Foster.
