Man Arrested After Pursuit; Drugs Found

High Speed Pursuit last week results in several charges.

The complete story below from KTLO:

A Marion County man was arrested following a pursuit in which speeds reached 110 miles per hour. The incident last Wednesday resulted in three felony and three misdemeanor charges against 48-year-old Jeffery Lashley of Yellville.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an Arkansas State Trooper was on patrol on U.S. Highway 62/412 west of Yellville when he clocked a vehicle traveling at 92 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. The second time the trooper used his radar, Lashley’s speed was up to 110 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued to Arkansas Highway 125 north where Lashley crossed into the southbound lane numerous times. The trooper noted Lashley was struggling to maintain control of the vehicle at the high rate of speed, and due to the risk of danger to other drivers, the trooper initiated a tactical vehicle intervention. Once the vehicle stopped, Lashley surrendered and was taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, the trooper found a plastic bag with suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Lashley is facing felony charges of fleeing, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia along with misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated drugs, reckless driving, no liability insurance and speeding more than 15 miles per hour over the posted limit. His bond is set at $10,000 but he is being held without bond on a parole hold.
