Man Arrested after High Speed Chase Led to State Trooper's Vehicle Overturning

No one was seriously injured after a high-speed pursuit started in Baxter County and ended in Marion County with an Arkansas State Police vehicle overturning.

Nineteen-year-old Randy Ramirez of Yellville is in the Marion County Law Enforcement Center with his bond set at $15,000.

According to the state police, a suspect refused to stop for troopers Friday on the Sheid-Hopper Bypass with speeds reaching nearly 140 miles-per-hour. As the driver approached the Flippin bypass, a trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention to end the pursuit. The collision caused the trooper’s vehicle to overturn.

The driver, later identified as Ramirez, was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor.
