Judge Orders Release of More Documents in Huntsville School District Hazing Incident

A resident is suing the school district, claiming it violated the Freedom of Information Act on multiple occasions.

HUNTSVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A judge has ordered the release of more documents related to Huntsville School’s handling of sexual abuse within the junior high basketball program.

A resident is suing the school district, claiming it violated the Freedom of Information Act on multiple occasions.

Judge Doug Martin said a text message was wrongly withheld from the public, citing the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Act.

Judge Martin is now asking to view all responsive documents in private so he can determine if more need to be released.

Another count in the lawsuit complained that the school district removed a newspaper reporter from a disciplinary hearing.

The judge ruled with the district there, saying the meeting was allowed to be held in private.
