A homicide investigation is underway in Marion County.
Arkansas State Police (ASP) say 80-year-old Daniel W. Stine was reportedly shot to death in his home near Yellville Monday night.
The ASP says the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of an intruder in the home about 11:15 Monday night. The residence is located at 2723 State Highway 235, southwest of Yellville. Deputies found Stine dead, the victim of an apparent gunshot wound. The body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death and time of death.
Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police have been requested to investigate the homicide.
A family member was reportedly inside the house at the time of the shooting and has been questioned.
The state police say the investigation is continuing.
