Historic Bridge Could be Donated to Harrison

The City of Harrison may acquire a historic bridge that could be used in the future over Crooked Creek.

At last week’s City Council Meetings, Public Works Director Wade Phillips said a 300-foot truss bridge in Franklin County was in the process of being dismantled and donated to another city when the decided they did not want it. Arkansas Game and Fish officials became aware of it and suggested it could be used once Crooked Creek is restored. The state likes to try and repurpose historic bridges when their initial use is done. The council voted to approve the accepting the donation if it passes through the administrative process.
