Harrison Man Charged with Threats After Domestic Dispute

A Harrison man has been charged with a felony count of terroristic threatening after a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on the evening of Feb. 20, Harrison Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence along Hester Drive for a report of a physical domestic disturbance. While on route to the location, officers were notified by dispatch the male suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Christopher Phillips, had left the scene and fled on foot in the direction of the Home Depot.

Officers were able to locate Phillips and detain him while the victim gave her statement. The victim stated Phillips was yelling at another person at the home and she decided to get between them and tell Phillips he needed to leave. The victim told authorities Phillips allegedly pushed her with both hands on her chest and threatened to “kill her” if she kept protecting the other person in the home. She then told Phillips he needed to leave for a second time.

Officers observed a red mark in the area of the victims chest where Phillips allegedly pushed her.

The second person stated she witnessed Phillips push the victim along with threatening her. She showed officers an empty bottle of liquor while stating there was more in the bedroom, leading authorities to believe Phillips was intoxicated. During a portable breath test, Phillips registered at .18% blood alcohol level.

Phillips was booked into the Boone County Detention Center on one felony count of terroristic threatening and misdemeanor counts of battery in the third degree and public intoxication. He was released on $3,500 bond with an order of no contact with the victims.
