Harrison Chamber's Wilson Marseilles Says he Thinks Harrison is Ahead of the Nation in This Way

Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Wilson Marseilles expressed that he thinks Harrison is ahead of the nation in regard to some trends.

Marseilles appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss that and more. "We are significantly ahead, I think, of some national trends," Marseilles said. He referred to a column in a local paper to support his assertion; the article came out on Dec. 7 and covered the local economy.

He said Boone County's sales receipts and tax growth is currently up 25% compared to 2020. This is a three-year average. "National growth was only 20%," Marseilles said.

The president and CEO explained that this shows an outpacing of national growth. He said this can be caused by people discovering Harrison, spending time in the area, and relocating to Harrison.

Marseilles said that growth is tracked via sales receipts and population growth, population growth being the more challenging of the two to track. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Marseilles is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
