Harrison Chamber of Commerce and Explore Harrison Invite Shoppers to Play a Game

The Harrison Chamber of Commerce and Explore Harrison invite shoppers to play a Christmas shopping game.

Chamber of Commerce President Wilson Marseilles and Amy Deer appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Friday to talk about the campaign to promote local shopping in the form of a game. People can enter by going to any participating store to pick up a shopping list.

Participants have to drop the list off in "Santa's Shopping List Drop-off" box. Boxes are available at participating stores.

It's not "pay-to-play," and welcomes multiple entries. After dropping off the list with the proper name and contact information on the back, shoppers can have more entries by taking their shopping receipts from participating shops, writing their name and phone number on the back and taking it to a drop box.

The more receipts one drops off, the more entries they have. Marseilles spoke about the incentive for shopping locally.

Marseilles said that much research shows that "for every $100 spent locally, 68 of those dollars are cycled back through the economy, some more than once." More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Deer and Marseilles is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
