Guidelines for Farmers Burning Field under Consideration in Arkansas

The process is underway that may lead to legislation to address how farmers burn their fields.

According to a report by Arkansas News Now posted by KTLO a study is underway to address this issue in the wake of a traffic accident in Jackson County that killed two people that was caused in part to heavy smoke reducing visibility from a nearby farm field burn.

State Senator Ronald Caldwell and State Representative Frank Cavanaugh say in the Arkansas News Now report that the approval of the study means meetings can be held around to seek input on potential legislation.
