Green Forest Man Faces Charges in Boone County

A Green Forest man is charged with theft by receiving along with fraudulent use of a credit or debit card in Boone County after breaking into a vehicle.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a report of a vehicle break in and theft of property. During the investigation, authorities learned while the victims were hiking near Terrapin Creek, someone had broken into their vehicle. One of the victims listed her cell phone missing along with another reporting his wallet stolen.

During an arrest a few days prior, 21-year-old Marshall Williams was found to have a wallet on his person containing credit and debit cards to one of the victims. Williams did not say how it came into his possession, and only stated the wallet was not his.

The victim told authorities there were charges on his account he did not make during the time his wallet was missing. Surveillance video from one of the stores showed Williams using the card to make a purchase for services. The victim also reported charges for food and beverages.

Williams is currently being held in the Boone County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. He is also being held for bond revocation.
