Funeral arrangements have been made for Mosco Cash

Tributes for Mosco Cash continue to pour in. His funeral arrangements are now set for next week.

Long time Harrison businessman and avid supporter of Harrison Goblin Athletics passed away on Wednesday.  Hundreds of friends have been leaving heartfelt tributes and memories about him on social media since the news of his passing.

Harrison City Councilman and former Harrison Goblin radio broadcaster Bill Boswell wrote, "The legacy of a real Golden Goblin is what Mosco brought to the table. He so loved the Blue/Golden. How do we ever say Thank You enough to a Harrison original."

Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Bob Largent said, "A loss for the community! Special prayers for Mosco’s family. His legacy will live for ages. RIP brother."

Mayor Jerry Jackson wrote, "Sure will miss this guy and all the funny stories. RIP Mosco"

Kim Rosson, who has been president of the Harrison Booster Club for over 20 years and worked with Cash for 16 of those years on various projects said, "His amazing loyalty and love for the Goblins was ever so strong. We owe his family a world of gratitude for the amazing gift they gave to this community through the Cash Center which is used by so many young children and youth today along with Jo T Cash track where thousands of students utilize each year and where state and district track meets are held along with his dedication to the fans to make sure that our community had the best facility possible. Without Mr. Cash and his family, F.S. Garrison stadium and Cash Center would never have happened."

Former Goblin Football Coach Tommy Tice said, "I don't think I've ever heard of someone who wanted to be a Goblin football player more than he did. You know, he played with polio and his lower leg bone, I think his left leg, was so brittle he had to wear an iron brace on it so he could play because, that leg bone, if it ever got hit it would break."

A favorite story of many is a situation that occurred last year during a Harrison basketball game that required an ambulance to be called in for Cash  who after being evaluated by nurses and paramedics refused to leave the gym until the game was over to make sure the Goblins won.

Neely Richardson was one of the nurses that night and she wrote, "I've had some really special patients over the years, but only a few have become true friends. Mosco spent many hours in the therapy gym over the years working diligently to keep his independence and more so just for the company. We loved listening to stories about his childhood, all his business ventures, and his family. He loved hearing stories about our families and lives...He will be greatly missed at The Springs of Harrison. We love you Mr. Cash."

"Nobody ever wore a Goblin letter jacket prouder than that guy," said Coach Tice.

Kim Rosson also joined KHOZ's "Around the Table" on Thursday morning to talk about Cash. You can see that interview on the Around the Table Facebook Page.

Holt Memorial Chapel announced that Cash's funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Harrison, officiated by the Rev. Rob Davis.   Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, at First Baptist Church.
