Former Marion County Judge John Massey is facing both a civil suit and a criminal charge after alleged misconduct directed at a former county employee.

KTLO reports the civil suit has been filed against Massey and Marion County based on allegations Massey had inappropriately touched a female employee and then retaliated when she reported the incidents. Massey was arrested in July of 2022 on a sexual indecency charge on the same allegations.

The plaintiff in the civil suit is Halle Loftin Brown who previously worked for Marion County as an Administrative Assistant. The suit alleges that Massey had begun to inappropriately touch her on several occasions shortly after she was hired by the county.

According to court records, Massey's trial in the criminal case is scheduled for January of 2024.

More details on the story can be found on the KTLO Website.
